Living in the beautiful city of Miramar, I know how important it is to keep your water service running smoothly But I also know how confusing and stressful it can be when that inevitable water bill shows up in your mailbox As a resident who’s figured out the online payment system, let me walk you through the simple process of paying your Miramar water bill online.
Why Pay Online?
Paying your water bill online with the City of Miramar has some great advantages:
Convenience – Pay anytime, anywhere with an internet connection. No need to mail payments or visit City Hall.
Efficiency – Online payments process faster, avoiding late fees.
Security – Payment info is encrypted and secure
Simplicity – Manage payments and see balance in one place.
Savings – Avoid credit card fees by using e-check.
I don’t know about you, but I always choose the fast, easy option over writing and mailing a paper check. The online system is so convenient for busy folks like us.
Setting Up an Online Account
First things first, you need to set up an account on the City of Miramar’s website:
Go to www.miramarfl.gov
Click “Pay Online” and then “Create Website Account”
Enter your personal information to verify identity
Create a username and password
Agree to the terms and submit
Once your account is created, you can immediately start managing payments. I’d recommend signing up even if you don’t have a bill due yet. It’s useful to have an account already in place when you do need to pay your water bill.
Making a One-Time Payment
If you just need to pay your current water bill, you can make a convenient one-time payment:
Log into your account at www.miramarfl.gov
Click on “Pay Water Bill”
Select payment amount and complete billing and payment information
Choose a payment method – e-check or credit/debit card
Verify details and submit payment
The great thing about one-time payments is you don’t have to enter your information every month. Just log in, enter payment amount, and pay! It takes me less than two minutes each month – so easy!
Setting Up AutoPay
For maximum convenience, I highly recommend setting up automatic payments through AutoPay. This way your water bill gets paid on time without you having to do a thing!
To set up AutoPay:
Log into your online account
Click on “AutoPay Program”
Select payment amount option
Enter payment method information
Review and submit request
Once AutoPay is activated, your payments will automatically be withdrawn from your account on the due date each month. What a relief to not stress about missing payments and late fees!
The AutoPay program is free and you can cancel or change it anytime. I’ve been using it for years and love the convenience.
Payment Method Tips
To avoid fees, I always recommend paying by e-check which pulls funds directly from your bank account. Credit and debit cards incur a 1.85% processing fee. Other tips:
Checks take 5-7 days to process so pay early to avoid late fees
Save payment info to avoid re-entering each time
Keep payment methods up-to-date on your account
Contact City if your payment doesn’t process properly
Following these tips will keep the payments flowing smoothly. Taking a few minutes to update your account saves time and hassle later on.
Getting Account Assistance
If you ever have an issue with your account or an unclear water bill, the City of Miramar is ready to help:
Call 954-602-HELP (4357) to speak with a billing representative
Email [emailprotected] for billing questions
Visit the Water Billing office at City Hall to pay in person
The customer service agents are friendly, knowledgeable, and can clarify any billing issues. I’ve always had positive experiences working with the billing department. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them with questions.
Avoid Water Service Disruption
Having your water shut off due to non-payment is extremely inconvenient. Avoid service disruptions by:
Paying on time each month through AutoPay
Contacting City immediately if unable to pay
Setting up customized payment plan if needed
Applying for financial assistance programs if eligible
The City aims to keep residents’ water on and running smoothly. By proactively communicating about any payment issues, you can prevent unnecessary shut-offs.
