You’ve not truly experienced the Great Lakes, unprecedented in their stunning and unique beauty, until you’ve been on the water. Since 2000 Keweenaw Excursions has been offering outstanding sunset and sightseeing tours along the various waterways of our beautiful state. We began running tours in Houghton, Michigan where we operated on the Keweenaw Waterway and Lake Superior. In 2009 we moved the vessel and all operations to Charlevoix, Michigan where we have been ever since. We offer a wide range of cruises from mid May through mid October including sunset tours, sight-seeing tours, and our 1 to 5 day lighthouse and ship watching cruises. We also charter the vessel for private cruises such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, and corporate functions.
Our vessel, the Keweenaw Star, is a 110’ U.S. Coast Guard certified vessel capable of carrying 130 passengers. We feature a full bar with beer wine and liquor, soda, snacks, air conditioned and or heated main cabin, full dining room, walk around main deck, and open air top deck.
Enjoy cocktails, friendly staff, quiet drifting waters, informative dialog, and unparalleled beauty as we cruise out into Michigan’s majestic waterways. Whether you’re out for an informative tour or romantic excursion, whether you’re creating a photo essay of Great Lakes lighthouses or simply relaxing and enjoying the view, you’ll enjoy your cruise on the Keweenaw Star..
There is plenty of space to enjoy Lake Michigan’s stunning beauty on the Keweenaw Star whether it’s the budding leaves of spring, summer’s thick foliage, or fall with its glorious colors. So join us for a journey of illuminating history and stunning scenery. Sit back and let us do the work. Our captain’s and crew’s primary desire is to give our guests a luxurious cruise on Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan.
The Keweenaw Star is located in the beautiful city of Charlevoix, Michigan just south of the US 31 draw bridge at the city marina adjacent to the Beaver Island Ferry terminal.
